Kaleido

It took a while before I was satisfied with the design of Kaleido.

I wanted a design that would create a high visual impact and would still be very subtle on the wall. After a lot of drawings, I finally came to this design.

To wind the artwork, hold the rear wheel and turn the front wheel counterclockwise. Let go of both wheels and the artwork will come in motion.

Love forever

I was commissioned to make this work as a gift for a 40th wedding anniversary. It had to be a symbol of love, happiness and luck.
That's why I chose to make four hearts as a sybol for love, which also form the four-leaf clover as a symbol for luck.

Flower

This work is much simpler in form but no less beautiful to look at.
It runs a little faster than the other works. Therefore the runtime is shorter.

To wind the artwork, hold the rear wheel and turn the front wheel counterclockwise. Let go of both wheels and the artwork will come in motion.

Mantis

Mantis is designed to have a rough appearance, yet creating very subtle and beautiful patterns while rotating.
All of these effects are created through the use of curved points.

I have chosen the name "Mantis" because the shapes of the wheels look like the front legs of a praying mantis.

To wind the artwork, hold the rear wheel and turn the front wheel counterclockwise. Let go of both wheels and the artwork will come in motion.

Infinity

Infinity is a work of art which consists of two rotating wheels with patterns.
In this work I chose to use multiple rings, because rings give a very beautiful and special effect when they overlap.
This effect is further enhanced because the front and rear wheel continuously vary in speed, and also in direction at the end of each driving cycle.

To wind the artwork, hold the rear wheel and turn the front wheel counterclockwise. Let go of both wheels and the artwork will come in motion.

At Random

In this artwork, I used multiple moving elements, which combined will result in an impressive viewing experience.
Not only did I use rotary movements, but also up and down movements.
By adding blockages in certain directions of the rotation, the artwork starts to move at random.

To wind the artwork, turn the winding wheel counterclockwise and the artwork will come in motion.

Snowflake

Snowflake is the first, large and good working kinetic atrwork I made.
I was inspired by the kinetic sculptures of David C Roy.

It is still hanging on the wall of my livingroom since I have made it, and I wind it up almost every day.

To wind the artwork, turn the winding wheel counterclockwise and the artwork will come in motion.
